Has anyone tried putting a scale model body on something like this to drive around your layout?

I'd love little more than to be able to put a prewar pattern truck or van body atop one of these to use on my own layout.

What have you tried? I have something like this eBay image I found, in mind...

I tried a sedan  but the panel truck might work in the back but the front may be too narrow , mine is packed away in a box right now so not handy, but when i picked mine up  i thought it would be great to run it on the roads of my former On30 logging  layout

They look too big to work based on the photo on Amazon but I'm still tempted to buy one and see if I can 3D print a smaller body and wheels for the chassis. I wonder if it's packed to the gills inside with electronics or if there's some space. I know there's a guy on Youtube named Luke Towan. He has used some sort of animated car that was appropriately scaled. I'm curious as to how he did it.
