100th anniversary of trains in Oakboro, NC | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Today (11/30/13) and tomorrow Oakboro NC is celebrating the arrival of train service in town. It was 100 years ago that service was established. I took a few pictures and hopefully they will be attached to this note. Oakboro is a small town about 30 miles east of Charlotte. If you live in the area and would like to have something to do this weekend away from all the shopping come for a visit. There is the real train sitting on display, a caboose that is open to the public and model trains on display at a former hardware store in town.
