Anybody had any problems like this one. The whistle steam does not work and the cab light does not work and the controls on top of the engine does not work.

Just in case it is a Lionel 11209 700E
Need a little more help on the complaint than just does not work, …..none of the switches are responding? You can’t get into programming mode? …..how are you running this thing? Command or conventional? ….what will the engine do? And what will it respond to? If you have a remote, have you tried a reset? The instructions for this are in the manual for the 700E ….

The two smoke switches are not. I shut off the main smoke switch, and it still smokes. The motor is running. The whistle switch it just doesn’t work. I just checked it I can program it the programming switch is working. Resetting the engine it seems to reset and using TCC.
The odyssey switch is working too.
So if I translate your replies correctly, you’re down to just the whistle Steam NOT working? and you can NOT shut off the main smoke via the switch? …..is that correct?

Cab light not wocking
Working
And yes
Puzzling deciphering your replies buddy, ….sooooooo….
no cab light,
no whistle steam.
main smoke stuck on via the switch.
Correct?
Pat
Yes
Ok let’s look at the problems one at a time
cab lighting is LED, so I’d try a factory reset before condemning the circuit. If no joy on a reset, the engine will need to be opened up to examine this fault.
whistle steam is powered by the Aux smoke switch. Be sure that is on.be sure there’s smoke fluid in the reservoir, the whistle smoke is separate from the main smoke!! If the engine has sat for a long time, sometimes sliding the switch back & forth a bunch of times can get it to work again. ( if that’s the problem ) take the tender off the track, you can operate the whistle without the tender, and you should faintly hear the whistle steam motor. Blow down the whistle s hole to clear any possible air locks.
main smoke stuck on via the switch. more than likely is a failed switch in the on position. You can turn off your smoke via remote for the present, if need be. I would just leave it in the on position for now.

Thank you
