Hello O scale world ..1938 both the PRR and NYC introduced the new smooth sided Pullman cars for the Broadway and Twentieth Century Limited . Ed Alexander also introduced his smooth sided Pullman Roomette car..one piece cast aluminum..full width operating vestibules ....fully painted and stripped NYC or PRR ..about $34.00 per car ..
One issue ..one car body ...for the observation cut off the end and add the roundy bit ...
If survival rate is an indication of how many were sold ....darn few ...
1939 Pomona introduces thier full line of Pullman or Budd cars with accurate windows for most the premium passenger trains ..so Alexander cars would have had a very limited market.
Here is a set of 5 PRR Alexander cars ...also offered ( but yet seen) in NYC ..any out there?
Why yes I was thrilled to be able to acquire this set of cars ...later to be pulled by an Alexander GG1
Cheers Carey
