Hello All,
I am trying to troubleshoot an issue with my 1999 GP7. Most sounds work, with the exception of crew talk, but all play at very low volumes. we have installed a new 9V battery and followed instructions as listed in the following link.
I have attached two relevant pictures to this post. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated.

Just as a point of continuing education, there are no dashes in EMD diesel model numbers. Your locomotive is a GP7, not a GP-7. The only place where EMD used dashes in model numbers was in the "Dash Two" series. Those models used a "-2" in the model number, as in SD40-2 or GP40-2.

Doesn't your GP7 have a master volume control potentiometer? It may just be a matter of locating it and turning it up.
(Thanks Rich - I've been a hobbyist for years and didn't know it is not GP-7!)
Thank you Don. You are correct. I failed to mention that the volume pot on the bottom of the GP7 is turned completely CW.
I wonder if I should restore the Circuit Board with the volume control fully turned CCW?
Now we both know there's no dash

I always like a happy ending Mike!
It's a matter of personal preference, but I usually set the volume all the way up with the locomotive's volume setting and then dial it back to the preferred volume with my CAB-1. That way I can have a volume setting my wife prefers and quickly dial it back up when she's out!
