Come one, come all to our 1st Open House in our new facility for the Smoky Mountain Model Railroaders Club.. It's been a year in the making and we would like to welcome everyone to attend! Our permanent layout is 50' x 25' in a folded dog bone configuration.

These western NC mountains are beautiful this time of year which makes for a nice family weekend getaway. The Biltmore House is in nearby Asheville and is definitely worth a visit as 'America's largest home'. It was built by Commodore Vanderbilt's (New York Central RR) grandson when the Vanderbilts were one of the wealthiest families in the world. An amazing place...

Our modest clubhouse is in Waynesville about 30 miles to the west just off I-40. Easy to get to. We will be hosting Saturday Oct 5th from 2p to 5p and offering light snacks, soft drinks, and tea. Several good restaurants nearby. We have a wooden Thomas set for the little ones and a winter layout with the Polar Express and the Santa's Christmas train for older kids. For you guys we'll have our 3 loops operational plus a subway similar to the old Lionel showroom layout that ran GG1s.

Would really like you to come if possible. Bring a locomotive if you'd like - we'll run TMCC/Legacy and DCS as well as conventional.
