Howdy. I just got a 302AC starter set from a friend and would like to set it up on my 4x8 test loop. Is the two rail Lionel Fastrak a new item, or has it been out there a while? Any experience? I am interested in seeing if I can put a loop inside my 042 three rail loop. This makes three Flyer sets, how many means I am hooked? Thanks!

Hi Luke. The AF Fastrack is relatively new. The only curve that they have released so far is a 20" radius which would be 40" diameter if you compare it to the O gauge O42 track. I believe the tracks are measured on the centerline so it may or may not fit inside of your O42 loop. I don't have O42 or I would test for you.

Lionel s FasTrack is new. It is similar to S Helper Services S-Trax,(rail height is the same) which handles old Flyer with no problems.
There's two previous threads, the firs comparing the two track systems, the second on joining the two together:

I only have a couple of straight sections of FasTrack, but based on my experiences with S-Trax, you should have no operational problems.

The 302AC Atlantic will also operate on Pike Master track and that will fit inside Lionel 042 track. If you keep to the smaller locomotives and freight cars you can use gar graves flex track to make your inside loop for your Flyer trains.
