I have the above engine that I bought from a Forum Member and have had it for a while (not sure how long) but this is the first time I put it on the rails.  I powered up the track and hit the "Read" button and it does not show up on the controller.  However, another MTH PS-3 locomotive (20-20713-2 UP Genset Rd #2707) shows up and it is on the shelf but the Dash-9 starts up and moves and does everything my DCS controller tells it to do.  For some odd reason (I'm not a DCS expert, but I'm trying to learn it) the Dash-9 unit does not show up on the screen, it's like its not sending anything back to the controller as to what it's credentials are and who it actually is.  Yet it will run as the Genset.  Can someone tell me what is going on with my engine, unfortunately whoever I bought it from did not include the owners manual so I can't use it to help me out.  I'm trying to find it online but haven't really had a lot of luck so far, maybe I'm looking in the wrong places, I don't really know, I'll be honest, I'm not real savvy when it comes to searching the internet.

Any ideas as to what may be going on with my engine.  Your answers are very much appreciated.  Thanks and have a great day.

Using read instead of add engine.

You have to properly add the engine to your remote.

When you read the one engine- it happened to be previously assigned to an ID  that ALSO was a used slot in your remote. That's why the info is incorrect.
