Will light up, but refuses to go forward or backward with supplied ready to run transformer. Using a CW 80, locomotive will stay lit, but refuses to go forward or backward. i’m assuming the circuit board in the E unit has given out?.? thanks for any help, Brian.

Not necessarily dead yet. First, verify the lock out switch isn’t switched to lock. …..next, a lot of these are notorious for cold solder joints on the electronic e unit. Follow the path from track power all the way to the electronic e unit, verifying hot & ground as you move along……..

I checked both of those to no avail. Took all seven wire nuts off and the solder joints look good, circuit board connections look good.next thing is to take the trucks apart and see what the wires are doing inside?
Looking good & knowing the path is true are two different animals. The chances of broken wires in both trucks are pretty slim. Are you using a meter to verify your path?
