A few years ago, Lionel dropped the ball on the re-release of the vision line challengers on their website ahead of when the catalog was released so I thought I'd check again this year and what do you know I found (Probably Vision Line) 2-10-10-2's and one of them in a fantasy scheme. I would, however, prefer for the original black paint scheme with white walls to be offered again maybe with the blackened rods and such to set it slightly apart from the original.

That described "Daylight" scheme looks an awful lot like the Santa Fe's "Valley Flyer" scheme. It's also a 3000 class, not a GS-3... They were rebuilt into 2-10-2's long before the short-lived Valley Flyer existed.

Where did you see this sneakpeak of this 2-10-10-2?
Looks like a mixup of photo vs description. 2031500 is a valid SKU for the GS-3 loco from 2020. If the 2-10-10-2 is in fact new, it would most likely have a SKU like 2131xxx.
That is one beast of a locomotive. I would love to see a Vision line 2-10-10-2 come out this year.

That's what it was in 2018 with the VL challenger rerelease too. I believe they had the photo of them over the Niagara or S3 at the time and I assume this is how this is too because they haven't released the catalog and haven't released the item numbers yet.

Same thing happened in 2018 with the VL Challengers. I believe it showed the challenger and then it had the description for a Niagara or S3.
Are there any vision line items in this catalog?
@amtrack5899 yes. just picked up my hard copy of the catalog a few hours ago. VisionLine 2-10-10-2 (4 offerings), Vision box cars, one part of a NYC Pacemaker expansion set, and 6 others available separately.

You think this one is worth getting?
I'm thinking about picking one up even though I model mainly PRR.
I've rounded out my collection of small steamers and I'm looking to get some big articulateds so I'm pretty excited about this offering.
