The March “O” Scale Meet will be held March 16-19, 2023 at the Westin- Chicago Lombard.
As in previous years, we’ll have over 20,000 sq ft of trading space with over 350 tables. For those who have not been to the March Meet, it is a lot of fun and well worth the trip. Many people attend on a yearly basis and travel from all parts of the US, Canada and from around the World.
For Dealers / Table Holders, Table Locations will be held until November 30, 2022. If you have not received a registration confirmation from us recently, your tables are not yet reserved.
Hotel Room Reservations are of the utmost importance for the future of the March Meet, so if you stay in a hotel, please stay at the Westin if you are able. Even consider staying an extra night. Every Reservation helps our cause. Our Room Rate is available Wednesday through Sunday night for reservations placed before FEBRUARY 22. After February 22, reservations will still be counted towards our commitment, however standard rates will apply. Unlike in the past, the current Owners are adamant about enforcing the cut off date, so get your reservations in early. The phone number to call for Room Reservations is located on our Flyer. This year the meet activities begin on Thursday with Ted Schnepf’s infamous Operating Session in Elgin, IL. Ted historically has hosted a short Operating Session on Friday. With the move to Thursday, he’s able to offer a full session which will begin at 12 Noon and end at 5pm. Full layout description as well as Operating Session sign up information is available under the TOURS tab on our website: www.MarchMeet.net . There will also be Layout Tours Thursday as well.
On Friday, Dealer Setup begins at 1pm and ends at 9pm. There will be more Layout Tours available as well as the traditional Friday evening discussion meetings.
Dealer Setup on Saturday morning will begin at 7am, with the Meet opening at 9am and ending at 5pm. The participation of the Model Contest in 2022 was significant so we will once again host the “O Scale Resource” Model Contest in the O Scale Meet Foyer. Just like this past meet, this will be a use it or lose it offering, so please seriously consider entering a model. There will also be Clinics during the day and Layout Tours in the evening.
NEW FOR 2023 will be the “O Scale Central” Cash Bar in the O Scale Meet foyer area from 6pm until Midnight. Whether you’re staying in at the hotel or going out for dinner and/or Layout Tours, be sure to stop by and enjoy the company of fellow O Scalers without the bar/restaurant noise.
Sunday show hours have been changed for 2023. They will be from 8:30am until 12:01pm. The Hotel has another significant event beginning the Monday after and they need most of Sunday afternoon in order to prepare. In exchange for ending the Meet at noon, the hotel has offered us a contract for 2024 without significant cost increases. The Hotel has also reduced their charge for electrical service from $45 to $25 for those dealers that need it. The new, updated Flyer reflects the reduced charge. We have every intention of returning to the 2pm end time on Sunday in 2024.
