I’ve just had my PW 24xx coaches on the worktop, replacing some of the wiring. Some of the insulation was perished, and they were pretty much unusable as a result.
Having dealt with the various intermittent shorts, I have to say, what pleasingly well engineered things they are! They track well and with rollers on every truck, they light nicely and the couplers work, too. Nicely understated styling and colour scheme.
They really are just what a toy train, ought to be. They look good with the PE Berkshire or the MPC Hudson, in its green livery.
