3-Rail code 148 brass rail track with cardboard ties.

I have some pieces of track which has alluded me as to whom by which it was made. It is three-rail track but the rails are solid brass and they are low profile, close to code 148 rail. The cross ties are made of a heavy, blackened hard cardboard. This track is not new, my father obtained it back in the early eighties and it was not new then. I believe it was made in the 1940's and 50's by a company in or around Chicago but that's all I have. Would anyone have any idea who made this track and when they made it?

Sounds like it could be code 172 brass track from Bob Peare Engineering. See the pdf linked in the first post on this thread:

Here are some pictures of these pieces of mystery track. It does seem to be from Bob Peare Engineering Corp. out of Clifton, NJ. Again, the rails are solid brass and earlier I said they seemed to be around code 148. I think they are around code 172, close enough to where on a permanent layout they could be mated with code 148. One picture is upside down to show how the rails are 'stapled' to the cross ties. The straight is flexible.
