Does anyone know how to remove / adjust the plate on the underside of the boiler that secures the engine weight. I cant find how this secured to the boiler and do not want to damage the body of the locomotive. See photo. Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Not sure what plate you're talking about. Normally, the weight is secured with two screws. With that locomotive, you can adjust the position of the weight, though I've never felt the need to move them. What plate are you talking about?
I’m with John on this one, …..see the witness marks in the paint on the two screw holes? That’s where it looks like the weight was, …..what exactly are you trying to do? and why is the weight out?

He may be talking about the plate with all the holes. Looks like its soldered in place which most likely cannot be removed.

That's part of the boiler, you ain't moving that!
That is what I was unsure of. I am unfamiliar with how these engines are built / put together did not know if the plate could be moved. Thank you for your responses, very much appreciated.
The plate can't be moved, but the weight can obviously be positioned to align with any of the hole sets. Like I said, I never felt the need to move the weight, but I do take them out at times to work on the innards when doing an upgrade. Also, most of these brass engines only have a pair of holes to mount the weight, there is no option to move them.
