The details on the atlas cars underbody is exceptional. The end detail is also tighter on the atlas from what I can tell. However the GGD cars overall appearance is finer, more authentic. The dome is what I wanted atlas to do so bad, I'm afraid only a brass etching can provide. Atlas was limited with tooling and the size maybe? Rapido trains dome is injected and fabulous but it's also ho. I'm just rambling. Any other thoughts?

Thanks bob

I reduced the image size and resolution of my previously posted images to improve the upload/download speed. This time I have attached full resolution images of the side and dome of the car, as well as a couple of pictures with the interior lights on.

We did produce 3 different schemes of THE CANADIAN. we made the one you see above (1950s CP), the CPRAIL version and the VIA version. The earliest version was by far the most popular. Very few ordered CPRAIL and VIA was mildly popular. Because these cars require a lot of labor, and little tooling, the cost is not amortized with high quantities. We could make as few as 50 sets, and as many as 200 sets more, and the cost would be the same. We might consider it if we see a lot of requests. Time will tell.

Those Canadian cars are beautiful and accurate.Sixty years or so Ralph Baldwin who marketed Pullman Bradley New Haven coaches and Pennsy GG1s mostly through Walthers built a Canadian from extrusions.Drilling and filing out the windows for a few months. Last I heard the train is still running at the Stamford club. Doc had infinite patience to do a project like this.

Really looking forward to these arriving. Paid my Hobby Shop over time for these.

A few $'s but looks like it will be worth it.

Domes look a lot more accurate then Atlas did.

Thanks Scott for taking the time to get these right and having a scale nut go over them to make sure they are right! That is what we are looking for when laying big $'s for a scale set.

??? In the photo above of the dome it looks like there is a straight cut line in the corrugated roof line?? Just in front of the curved part where it matches the roof line?? is this for removing the dome a separate casting??

I had the older set 10 car Canadian set and re striped it for VIA.

Had been told at the time when I got them from a friend that they were custom extruded and windows milled to CP specs I think he said they had been made in the 60's

I used a brass MAC shops dome kit for the Park and Skyline car domes.

It has been on my to do list to add interiors.

Really looking forward to the new train set thanks for running them Scott!

Here are some pics of the early extrusion and shots of the CP engines Scott Ran for the Canadian they look great.
