Hey everyone,

I recently came across a picture of this model online and it caught my eye immediately as I love the look of these engines and it is a unique model for O scale. Does anyone have one of these or know if one is for sale? There are not many pictures of this model out on the internet. It is an older model too. Curious to see if anyone has an interest in this model as much as I do. Thanks for reading!

Isn't this the Sunset 3rd Rail model of years ago...done in CN, GTW, and Ohio Central??  O3R/O2R

Addendum:  If you click on the center image in the OP's entry, the fine print at the bottom of the photo claims it is, indeed, a Sunset 3rd Rail model.  As I recall, one of these recently sold at a Stout auction...in the $1500+premium range.

Weaver did a 'streamlined' CN/GTW 4-8-4, but not this particular model, ASFAIK.  MTH did a U1F, I believe.

It is yes. It seems to be the only time a model of the U-3-b was offered for O scale.

Weaver did the U-4-b which is the streamlined version of this. A very handsome model.

The MTH U-1-f is a gorgeous model. Very hard to come by nowadays. Very unique.

Definitely a good looking model. Maybe someday someone can make a different variation of the CN/GTW 4-8-4 locomotives. Which classes did 3rd rail make. Maybe a U-1-c would be next? I can't imagine how much this model would cost if it was made today though.

As far as I can tell the U-3-b is the only CN/GTW 4-8-4 class they've made. This would make sense as 6325 is more well-known.

A GTW 6039 would be cool since it is a U-1-c and it is preserved!

Even a new U-3-b would be very expensive since it is such a unique model to O scale. However, it would be cool to see with new technology.
