I just got a tracking number from 3rdrail, and the F7s should be at my home next week. Can't wait!

Mine will be here tomorrow
You need to actually check the UPS tracking. I got my notice on Oct 29th with an expected delivery of Nov 5th. Scott warned in his post that they cut all the shipping labels at one time but ship dealers first. My F7s actually shipped yesterday, Nov 2nd, and will arrive Nov 10th.

You guys are lucky. UPS just notified me that they "incorrectly sorted" my F7s and sent them to some other part of the country. Since boxes from 3rdRail normally "disappear" for 5 days before arriving at a sort facility in the Southeast it could be 10 days before I see mine. Hopefully, they sent them to someplace near Oakland or near me here in Florida.

PS. They shipped it to San Fransisco so it only lost a day
My powered Canadian Pacific F7B has shipped and is scheduled to arrive next Monday. This will run between my two powered Canadian Pacific FP7A units and give me all the power I need to pull my Sunset 10 car Canadian train.

Are your two powered FP7's not already enough to pull the set?
I also have the 10 car set with two powered FP7's and a dummy B unit and that seems to be plenty of pulling power. I have a 3 Rail set. Maybe yours is 2 Rail?
I can't fing any images of the F7s?
Is the CP in maroon/grey Beaver Crest or red Multimark livery?

Jtrain,
My engines and cars are also 3 rail. While the 2 powered FP7 A units will provide adequate pulling power under normal situations, my situation is a little different. I am running my trains in a modular club display environment where the trains may be running continuously from anywhere between 2-6 hours without a break. The extra powered B unit is just a safety(overkill if you will) element to help spread the work load between 3 powered units instead of 2 as it seems to help keep the motors and electronics somewhat cooler when running together as a lashup(oh no there's that word again!!)

Terry,
I could be wrong, but I don't believe there were any CP F7A units produced in this run. I think Scott was willing to produce the CP F7B powered units only from requests of those that purchased the earlier released CP FP7 AB units. In that run of engines only the A unit was powered, the B unit was a dummy and as was discussed in threads some time ago that single powered A unit was not powerful enough to pull the 21 inch, 10 car aluminum Canadian passenger set. Some, including myself, were able to find another separate powered FP7A unit, but those that were available sold out very quickly. But back to your question, I know these current F7B powered units were produced in the classic CP maroon and grey, but I don't know if they were done in the Multimark or Via colors. Hope I didn't confuse you too much.

Nov 20ish for me... ****, international shipping takes forever! Post pictures as you get them!
Just got a tracking number. Will wait a couple of days before checking the tracking.
Doug, you've got to publish pictures tomorrow if you get them.

Thank you, Nick. Unfortunately, having returned to trains only early this year, I missed out on these F7s. Was thinking maybe they had one unspoken for but obviously this would not be the case as the A-B were shipped quite some time ago.
Ah, well . . . still hoping for the CP E8s next year.

Always worth asking. One never knows...
Some of these offerings go like hotcakes (El Capitan cars for example), while others stay in stock on a limited basis (i.e., last I checked there are still a few GM TOT sets still available close to a year after they hit the street).
Give them a call.

Working is for chumps and were number one chumps
Man, I feel your pain! It's always like Christmas morning when a cool delivery comes.

Tried. No luck! (sigh)
Check with Sunset 3rd Rail if you still want one. Reservations do get cancelled at the last minute for various reasons and units come available. It is worth getting on the standby list.

Love the tease! In fact, please wait to install the scale pilots and Kadee couplers prior to photographing them.
I'de really love to see them as delivered.

Unfortunately, it may be a few weeks before I get the 2R pilots, side ladders, and Kadee brackets because Scott has to bring them back from China on his next visit.
The out of the box photos are over in the HiRail Thread
My Pennsy A and B units were just delivered. Unfortunately,it may be a couple of weeks until I am able to get a look at them.
