4014 Big Boy coal tender

What commands are you using?  FWIW, I just filled mine after a demo ride around the layout for some friends.  All you do is old the reset (circle R) on the keypad and it refills, complete with sounds.

The only “R” I see is for the rear coupler? I looked at my remote and I didn’t see an R with a circle around it.

If you have configured the CAB2 remote for Legacy engine type, the (circle R) will be clearly visible.  Hold it down until the coal load is finished "expanding", you'll have coal filling sounds as it happens.

Yes! I paid $3000 for mine.

In today's market it's a pretty decent deal.  I will say that occasionally one comes along cheaper, I bought one that was virtually new with all the accessories included for $1700 recently.  However, I see ones that have been opened selling for more on eBay, so take that into consdideration.  I traded it for a different road number (#4012) so I could double-head it with my original #4014.  I did the trade in person and we both got to run our new possession for a spell to insure they were 100%.  However, I wouldn't look for anything like that to come along too often.

Do note that you have no warranty with one sealed in the box, though they are pretty trouble-free and actually fairly easy to work on.

Well, that's a fine locomotive in it's own right, so maybe you should get both!
