Bought this engine used awhile back & was surprised to hear “diesel sounds” from it. They turn on & off with the horn switch but I can’t see a way to turn the volume down. The rev sounds are high or low depending on voltage supplied, but in all operations the volume is too loud, any ideas to lower it ?

Pretty sure that is the OTT sound board system, which may be related to the williams sound system.

I see 2 potentiometer adjustments, one is likely sound, and the other affects the range or voltage the RPM sound changes happen.

Also, this board is the Lionel AC reverse unit, the design before the LCRU came out. Again, this is right when they were coming out with TMCC and command control, and this board was before the later LCRU that could receive TMCC.
