Good morning everyone. I was just wondering can anyone suggest what day  is best for the pre York meets? I assume it would be Monday as that would be when things are first set up but I could be entirely wrong.

I've been going to the Bandits and Pre Show on Tuesdays and Wednesdays since the Pre Show started, and when it comes to the Pre Show, Monday would probably be a good day if you want first crack at what vendors brought, although they may not have everything out -- I've seen things there on a Wednesday that were definitely not out on Tuesday.  When it comes to the Bandit Meets, some vendors do not set up on Mondays, and the weather will play a role at the Wyndham Garden, since they have outdoor vendors, and some of them only set up in really good weather, and others will set up in less-than-ideal conditions.

IIRC, the last pre-meet sale only had about a dozen vendors.  One of them had a large selection of Atlas reefers; those always seem to attract a lot of attention.  Not a lot of foot traffic when I was there.

I remember hearing some of the vendors complain about poor sales, while others thought it was worthwhile.  My guess is that if items are priced to sell, they will move.

I heard the same comments, but I hear similar at pretty much every train show.

The Pre Show does seem to be growing.  There were more vendors there the second time than were there the first time, and the EDTCA has published the Purple Hall Chart for this coming meet.  The dates on the chart run from 10/14 to 10/19, and there looks like there are more vendors than last time.  The chart does NOT indicate, however, if all these vendors will be there for the Pre Show, or if some of them are just coming for the T-F-S meet days.  I guess we will find out soon.

Well, for the 1st time in 47 years I will not be going to York.  I have a bad cold, and my daughter thinks I should stay home. I'm 94 years old and she drives me even though I still drive. Boy, am I going to miss all of you guys. I am also going to miss Round the Clock. I have been eating breakfast there since it opened about 25 years ago.  I started all the TCA guys going there. Peter, tell Liviu Hotea the manager that my Daughter & I won't be there. He was always very nice to us.                                                                                                    Thanks.

Eddie, feel better. I got too much going on and won't make it. I sort of thought maybe, but plans changed with family stuff as usual. You all have a great time, have a round of coffee(or tea) for Eddie, and when you get to Quaker Steak, have a Guinness for me. Toast to all the great friends. Miss you all. Have an excellent York, even if you buy nothing at all.
