A friend was gifted this tinplate train, Marx I think. | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Doctor friend was given this set. He said he also got a few cars and some track though I didn't see those. I don't know anything about prewar tinplate but quick searching I found it looks to be a Marx locomotive. Any information would be much appreciated.

The locomotive is a postwar (NOT prewar) Marx Canadian Pacific. It should be paired with a wedge tender, not the one in the picture.

I couldn't find any pictures of that engine with that tender so that would explain it
