Taken at the RR I volunteer on, on Saturday when I wasn't operating:

I ran as a student brakeman the next day, with a three car train. My current profile pic is a selfie I took as we were getting ready, before the passengers boarded and the cell was of course turned off as per FRA rules.

For today: " Barney the fireman on 729 stands by as the freshly painted tender is being topped off. 729 will be in helper service today.  Lots of freight will be rolling up the hill, the crew's nick name for the mountain,  thanks to the efforts of 729 and it's crew Barney McCall and Mack N. Tosh,  the engineer. "IMG_0205

For today: " The Bethlehem Steel Co's Patapsco and Back Rivers Railroad is the proud owner of many end cab switchers which were manufactured by a variety of locomotive builders.  On this rainy day the photographer captures a Baldwin VO-1000 feeling itself right at home as it trundles by scrap piles of steel and tin.  IMG_3915
