Well John, I'm partially into DCC. I wired my DCC into my block toggles and switch to DC or DCC depending on what I'm running.
I was undecided on what to buy, but went with the MRC Prodigy2 system, mainly because Micro-Mark had one-heck-uv-a-deal on them a several of years back.
I like it. It's easy for a Luddite like me to use and understand. A nice thing about the MRC system is commonly used commands are listed on back of the hand held controller for reference.
Plus, when I upgraded to their wireless Prodigy controller, while there were some glitches in the early version, MRC's support was second to none in straightening out the issues.
As to decoders, I've been using Lenz JST-Gold(non-sound) decoders in AM and SHS locomotives with no problems. Control and running qualities are excellent. I also have one factory Digitrax Tsunami equipped SHS 2-8-0 with excellent sound and control.
