Guys and gals if I may suggest a few things? Many of these pictures are just showing headlights and windows. To get a better picture at "night" you first need a tripod and second take long exposures. Many of my pictures are 90 seconds or sometimes more. I "paint" with small flashlights for the headlights of cars and trucks. When the shutter is open I slowly move my flashlight where a car headlight would hit the road. You can do the same to highlight a dark area. Always keeping the flashlight moving. Sometimes it takes me dozens of tries but it's worth it. Hope this helps a little. DonRound house smokeJPGShell night

There are some outstanding shots on this thread!  But here's my contribution.  It's a 1:1 Geep 9 that was head end on a dinner train my wife rented for me for my 70th birthday.  Is it any wonder I love her?

And a shot of my S scale C&O Brill in front of an unfinished Michigan Central depot, the real one being in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  The Brill is completely scratch built.
