Today, Theresa and I had the pleasure of meeting forum member Brian Eso and his wife at their home. What a cool layout they have! great track plan, and a really neat tunnel complete with a lighted inside scene. This was my first time seeing Fastrack on a layout, and it looks pretty darn nice. The coolest thing about the corner layout is that the whole thing is on wheels, and can be pulled away from the walls to access the back. It also includes a pop out section in the in the center, which is designed for a complete scene change for different seasons.

Brian commented about all the knowledgeable members from whom he has gained so much information during his layout progression. His wife is on board with the project, helping with scenery, and expansion suggestions. I invited Brian to visit us on one of his future trips to the Pittston train Shop. Brian, we had a nice visit, and I look forward having you visit the Wrong Way RR some time in the future.

Steve,

It certainly was a full day. We went to visit some friends north of us, and stopped at their restaurant for lunch, then we visited with some of the other family members, including our son Mark who went up yesterday.

I had sent Brian a few e mails both yesterday and this morning, to let him know I would be in the area. I didn't get a reply, but through the magic of technology, I was able to call him as we were heading home.

We had one more stop after Brian's to drop a few things off at another friend's home. but I think I'll regret the two cups of high test come ten thirty. Unfortunately, we didn't get back home in time for a new friend from another forum to stop by and see our layout. A great way to spend a cloudy and rainy day!

Sounds like fun. I was reading the thread about casters on Brian's layout table just the other day. Someone had linked to the thread from another one about casters. I have always liked Fastrack, but the noise persuaded me to use Atlas-O. I have since heard many were able to quiet their Fastrack with carpet or other sound deadening materials. My LHS has a Fastrack layout and I always admire it on my weekly visits. I really like the Atlas too, so all was not lost in the switch.

I had my camera in the car, and had used it in Wyalusing to photograph some covered hoppers and an SD45 on a siding.

Oh well, next time.
