Adhesive for Silhouette Window Strip in Lionel Madison Car #6-29002

Hi. The adhesive on a silhouette window strip in my Madison car is not holding. What type of glue/adhesive is recommended. Will rubber cement work?

Not cheap from Micromark. Works better than anything else I have tried. You just need to have patience and let the glue dry. It drys tacky and when you place the glazing in place. Nothing oozes out.
