Does anyone have any clues as to how to repair/add a speaker to this dummy? Ive found no wiring diagrams from the board to any "speaker" Is it worth the trouble?
Thanks

It's a pretty lame horn if that's what you're asking.
Looks like there's only four wires to it, so I'd imagine that the ones that aren't connected to the track are driving the 8 ohm speaker.
The two wires on the board go to pick up roller and ground. The two pins on the other end of the board go to the speaker.

What are folks using to give a nice diesel sound post war-age-ish-? Proto is beauty, but tiny bluetooth speakers with "Rail Sounds" app sound great as well.... and the grandkids like the technology, although Grandma does not like the "NUCLEAR MELTDOWN" Alarm that is Also an option on the app.. <g>

FYI... that board uses a 16 ohm speaker, which gets connected to the two posts on the board. The OEM spec was 16 ohm, 0.2 watts.
And yes, it generally sounds awful.

EEEEKS.... well.... perhaps its best to gut it and go with BlueTooth Train Sounds app... Thanks alot for your feedback. My old GG1 at least sounds... not bad, in postwar terminology.... HA! Nothing like the sound machines and intricate BEASTS that proto sounds produce... Someday, when I grow big, Ill get a starter engine..... "With a remote"... and 'Kewl Sounds"... for "The Grandkids"... ( yeah, that's the ticket...) and Real Smoke"....... and.......
ROFLMAO
