Below are four pictures of the Altoona Model Works elevator. I have not decided on its permanent location and therefore have not decided on its name. Once the sign/name is on it, I think it will look really good. The kit went together easily and very quick. There was one miss cut of the Masonite core where the core window didn't line up with the outer wood shell but that was easy enough to fix. The best description I can give is that it just looks right. Big but not too big and it captures the classic look of a wood elevator.

Don't know what area you're modeling, but check out the second pic. Barn red elevators were usually in the northern U.S. and Canada (some exceptions, of course)
We are going for the Santa Fe thru the Midwest look . I know Edelstein Illinois had two elevators, one of which was red. The second picture in your link is very appropriate for this thread. I'm pretty sure the red elevator is the one that Altoona used to design the kit.
Oh that’s an awesome structure! This is on my list this year.
Fantastic John! Thanks for sharing! Definitely on my list to build!
nice job!
I've looked at these numerous times at the Chicago show, and will definitely consider one next year..... They look fantastic!
