I am wondering if anyone is using these vehicles on their layouts. If so what is your opinion of them & do they blend in well ? Thanks in advance for your replies.
If you can live with "toy-like", these are fine. They have a neat "retro"look, but they do not mix well with "Hi-Rail" scenics, IMO. I wish their "Bungalo Bar" ice cream truck was a regular diecast 1:43...it was how we NYC kids got ice cream back in the '40s-'50s.
Sadly, American Dimestore vehicles are not currently being manufactured. I have seen them offered on Ebay.
IMHO, they are great for a traditional toy train layout. As has already been posted, I cannot see the scale guys using them. I purchased a small quantity of them when they reached Kay Bee Toys, and were clearanced priced.
