Does anyone know where I can find parts for American Flyer "O" gauge engines #447 and #556? I need a brush plate and "E" unit for the 447 and the front and trailing truck with attaching parts for the 556.
I just checked a site I have got Standard gauge AF parts but they don't seem to have any O gauge parts. I would do a search on E-Bay and if you don't find what your looking for save the search and have E-Bay E-Mail you when something new matches. I would run this question by the guy's on the tinplate forum and list what you need on the want to buy forum. Good luck.
Ed, Doug at Port Lines Hobbies is very helpful with O gauge stuff in Flyer. The website is www.portlineshobbies.com and his email is: doug@portlines.com. I would doubt that you need a complete reverse unit, unless it is missing. Usually a good servicing with new contacts and cleaning the drum and moving parts will bring it back to health. Bear in mind that the prewar reverse units use different contacts than the postwar items.
Olsen's appears to have a small assortment of Flyer "O" gauge parts.
If folks have favorite American Flyer parts dealers, I'd appreciate knowing about them. I have not had much luck finding some of the parts I could use.
