Does anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for pre-war AF electric locos such as the 3100 series? Am particularly interested in the reverse thingy and headlight. Thanks.

You might get more answers in the S-Gauge Forum
Actually, there are people that can be helpful on the 3-Rail Tinplate Trains forum. If you search on "American Flyer pre war wiring" it will bring up past postings. The Wide (Standard) Gauge wiring is generally the same as the Narrow (O) Gauge. In the 3100 series some engines are forward only, some are manual reverse and some are automatic reverse. The wiring for each type is of course, different. I am not aware of any online source of pre-Gibert (1937 and older) engine wiring diagrams.
Most of the pre war AF catalogs are online but that does not help with the wiring.
Here is a page from Olsens catalog. It's for standard gauge, but it may help.
