Since the cab fire and the damage to the paint killed the value of my BL live steam mogul, or atleast to the point that I cannot seem to sell it, I am wondering how hard it would be to Americanizing it to look less British?  Obviously a different cab and tender would be needed along with some different pilot details.  Ditch the buffers and replace with a USA style pilot set up, maybe caniblized from a Lionel casting.  Either a centered headlight or one up top in front of the stack.  She does have a Belpair boiler, so maybe PRR?  Just testing ideas, not gonna do anything right away, may just try to find matching maroon paint and respray the cab sides and reline it.  The rest of the engine and tender look just as it did when I got it.   Mike

It has been listed for sale a couple times, I gave 600 for it, but post cab fire with the now scorched paint on the upper cab sides (I did repaint the roof already), I would want to get $500 for it.  She does run, atleast on blocks.  I lack track of a wide enough diameter to run her on rails yet. Would love a nice boxed 675 steamer set, or a 1423w boxed set.  Mike

I am not even totally sure I want to sell her. I will get a chance to run her at a local show later this year. There is a live steam group that I am involved with and their portable layout is dual gauge (45/32mm).  I would love to find someone to repaint the cab for me.   I wanted to build a small UK tinplate layout. But the high costs to do so was an issue. I would love an electric engine from bl,darstead or ACE Trains. However even the little Jinty tank engine was beyond my means. I let go of my two clockwork engines, will probably regret that later, hopefully I will find a small electric LMS engine someday. Mike
