That is very nice.
Brings back memories of when I was a kid and the streets had those kind of cars on them.
Thanks for posting the photos of your layout.

Eric, please--some more info on the assortment of automobiles! Brands? Source? When made? Still available? Thank you. tt
The Atlas cars are even more beautiful in that setting. But like Tom, the autos steal the show! Malcolm
Such stunning scenes. Great stuff.
Awesome pics, I agree with Malcolm, the autos certainly stand out. Thanks for posting.

I am glad you guys like the pictures. They could be better.
I would like to figure out a way to automate autos on the layout similar to Miniature Wunderland.

Tom,
Cars, vehicles, trucks in O scale is a challenge. As we all know they vary in scales from 1:43 the most common to 1:50. The Model Company released a wonderful kit of a 39 Pontiac in 1:48!
Most of the cars in these photos are suppose to be 1:43 but often many are designed to fit the box.
I am careful on what English built Brooklin pieces to collect. Some Brooklin models are HUGE, more like 1:30 or something like that. But some of the newer Brooklin models are wonderful. The 1954 Chevy Handyman wagon is a treat!
The Argentina Built Buby Collector's Classics were awesome. Developed by a series of collectors in the 1980's, they were very close to scale 1:43 and they did the research. Correct colors based on color chips and actual auto maker records. Sadly they made a few prototypes, Ford, Chevy, and Packard.
Today the Chinese are building some fantastic models and most are reasonably priced. There is a lot of toys in there, overly bright chrome bumpers, poor color choice, convertibles with the top down.. hot rod stuff.. These models just don't work in a real setting. Repainting and toning down the chrome helps but it is limited. Sunstar has been doing some outstanding 1:43 stuff but once again convertibles with the top down, crazy exotic stuff you just would not see in a depot parking lot in 1956.
I wish Spark, Minichamps, and Premium Classix would produce American cars of the 1950's and 1960's. These models generally racing stuff is amazing. Photo etched details, Tampo graphics.. NICE. But no 1954 Chevy's.
The things we do to get that just right photo....
