Animated Lion Car - need help programming in Legacy | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

I've read the Legacy manual, the Lion car (#6-19850) instructions, and searched the forum to try to program the car into the CAB2. After trying different variables the only thing I can get it to do is to duck the lion head down. The coupling and sound controls don't work. If someone has this car (or a similar animated car) already programmed could they be kind enough to tell me what settings to enter? Engine, Train, Accessory? Cab1, TMCC, or Legacy? Railsounds setting, etc.? Possibly the unit is just defective, although the car will make a lion roar sound and play music when it's moved or the power is turned on. Thanks in advance.

Based on the instructions I would set it up as an Engine, Cab 1 Control, and Railsounds.

I gotta' go with Marty, if it's functional, setting it up as a CAB1 type and following the instructions for use with a CAB1 should work.

Thanks Marty. I followed your recommendation as well as several variations - the only thing that works is the head ducking (on multiple buttons) and the front coupler. My guess is that something's defective in the control board.

Well, there's a manual volume control on the bottom. Play with that.

Also, if someone configured it in a "lash-up" under TR it may need to be cleared.

The bottom of page 25 describes the procedure.
