Add one more to the attendance list if still room. Thanks!
When will we see an update to the LCS app. Need more track selections. I need to triple track a curve. Only two different curves to select from and they don't make a good double track curve. Way too many approximations that look bad on my LCS app. I am not looking to do layout design with it but it needs to look good. Need to set switches so the divergent path is green and strait thru is red.
What happened to the 3rd party apps for LCS?
Block status monitor BSM. End of train detection. ID for older locos.
Will there be an app that will control the automation?
Dan
Lots of questions. LOL. On the list.
I know Marty, LOL, but we need to keep asking. Sorry I can't make it this spring. I seem to make the fall meets, see you next October.
Dan
I'll be there.
And here is my question regarding Legacy engines: Is there any potential danger/problem, electronics-wise and beyond normal wear, to running Legacy engines for prolonged periods, say 4-6 hours at a stretch (keeping them properly lubricated and smoke units filled, of course)? (Like overheating.)
Andy
question from another thread.
regarding the ser-2 and how many devices it will run.
per Jon Z picture saying he had I think 24 ASC's connected to one ser-2 that to get all to work he used a 500 OHM resistor? to get all to work.
Marty E,
hope I did this question somewhat correct feel free to adjust if needed.
my question is using the new ser-2 are the ASC's used in his test the older 24 asc's lionel is currently selling?
if so will lionel be marketing newer asc's not requiring any add on electronic resistors so the one ser-2 can run all 24 ASC's?
also as of right now how many older lionel devices will a ser-2 actually run connected to the Legacy Base as is no other electronic gizmos needed?
can it work 12 bpc's and 8 tpc's as is right now?
That'll work. Thanks.
Follow-up question from 2014 fall meeting: I asked if there are plans to update the LCS APP to control AMC's and OTC's with both operating and uncouple functions? Response was that Jon would ask Rudy to make a list of currently non-supported modules and that with time and revisions to the LCS APP we may be able to support some of the non-supported modules functions. Question is: Any progress on supporting the currently non-supported modules in the LCS APP?
On the question on supported modules being run thru an SER2, I have 25 being supported with no problems. However I am sure it may depend on the mix of the modules.
Here is a pie in the sky question....
Would Lionel release an external card-writer (for purchase) that we could plug a railsounds card into to flash the card with a downloaded file sound set? This external writer could plug into a laptop via USB cable. Lionel could host the file sets on line and customers could download the file set (perhaps for a fee) to the laptop and then install it on their railsounds cards. Clearly this would be a lot of work for Lionel because they would have to host the file sets and create multiple versions to entice downloads. They could make money on the external writer and the downloads though. Maybe they could create engine number specific file sets with cab dialog that people could purchase or NO cab dialog file sets for those that are bothered by them.
I know we would not be able to select a specific whistle or bell but would rather have to select and download a complete file set, but I still think it would be cool.
Anybody thinks this would be worthwhile?
Oh, and pass along a BIG THANK YOU for updating the LSU with switches, trains and routes...that is great and much appreciated!!
Guys
I appreciate the clear and well written questions. It makes my job easier and easier for Jon and Lionel to provide an answer. Keep them coming!
We'll be showing LCS Version 3.1 with the ability to share layouts! Bring your iPad with LCS 3.1 and we'll push some layouts around the room!
All
If you plan on us helping to create the Black (or GRJ Blue) modules with 1.53 on them, remember we need 2 modules.
Also Will Allen is unable to attend due to some community commitments. Will is actively volunteering in bringing mass transit to his community and unfortunately his schedule for those commitments has changed making it impossible for him to attend. I'm sure he'll post about this soon but just wanted to give you a heads up in case you need to arrive a little earlier to get the modules done.
I will still be able to help make the modules but only before and after the meeting.
Tomorrow end of day will be the deadline for questions. Get 'em in.
When the LCS APP boots up, any block power icons come up in the ON position. I think it would be nicer if they boot up in the OFF position. This is true no matter how the BPC2 is programed, that using the feature of the BPC2 coming up in the position of how they were set on power down. The track switch icons come up in the OFF position. It seems perhaps there needs too be a monitor for these other functions like the STM2 that is being proposed. Any comments? At least that is how my LCS APP is working.
Sometimes I buy used engines and the module is defective or missing. I'd like a refresher on how to load up the data manually. (Wish there was a net interface...)

Thanks everyone!
Everyone
The questions have been submitted. I am working on a few things to show at the meeting that I think will be pretty exciting from both our friends at Lionel and a LCS partner.
I will post a pdf version of the meeting agenda on Monday and will have some limited hand outs on Friday. We are still on for having it recorded and will make that available the following week.
If you have an iPad with the latest LCS version of the app bring it along. We can push the DEMO board layout to it.
I plan on getting there around 7, breakfast at 7:30, discussion starts promptly at 8. We should be able to get everything in by 8:45. I will be available after to make 1.53 modules (make sure you bring 2), go over anything we talked about, or just check some things out.
Thank you
The LCS partner who has passed along some stuff to demo has also provided some info for us to handout as well. I will make sure I have plenty of those to handout. I think you'll be pretty excited about this.
Just a a note to other LCS partners. The Legacy Users Group is committed to passing along information with anything to enhance Lionel's Legacy and LCS. While a little late for this meeting, if you have anything you would like shown at future meetings please contact us.
We can include in this meeting a link to a website or some limited information we can include on the agenda handouts.
Agenda pdf. added in first post.
Thanks for the list Marty, looks good. Lots of good questions there.
I think there will be more than a few happy people with what we got to show.
Add moi too, I may be sleeping in the car Thursday Night but will be there!
A small update...another LCS partner has provided some material to hand out and we will have a few minutes to go over the material. While the "pattern was full" for the Spring agenda I have blocked some time in the fall to do a demo of his product.
I will also add links to the agenda when we post the summary for both of the LCS partners who have reached out to us.
I think folks are going to have a lot to digest on Friday. The past few weeks have been very exciting for us here at the LUG group as we prepare for Friday's breakfast.
My last post on this...
The demo board is ready. I am going through the items to show one last time this evening. I must say I am pretty excited about the LCS partners contribution to the program. While we are only doing a demo on one of the items, I want to briefly go over the information sent by the other. We intend to have an active demo in the fall.
The agenda is set, the car will be packed tonight and we'll be ready to go!
I'm loading the car!
Late notice, I know, but if there is still room, I'll attend. Wasn't sure if I would make this meet.
Thanks.
-Dave
Thanks for all who attended. The summary will be up next week. I have a few things to address and get some follow ups on. Video should be up then as well.
i think all that attended got to see some cool new products, app, and computer console to enhance Legacy!
Some great stuff this time, my favorites were the sensor boxcar and the new app to allow you to remotely control configuration of the sensor track.
Hoping to have the summary and video up by Saturday. Our video team also did the OGR forum meeting and he got that done today.
The video is uploading to the web overnite and it should be available for viewing tomorrow afternoon. Look for a link soon!
Inquiring minds...
