1 unit is powered. The other unit got some pickup rollers and I "MU" the two together. Now this unit goes through switches like a dream.
Creeping at 2/SMPH through back to back Atlas #5 switches.

Very nice idea. Your personal record has been awarded ten merits for scale speed switch engine movement.
You're stirring up memories. I ran the prototype of both the 2374 and the 2358 as a young Engineer.
Nice job John. I 3RSd mine too, although I didn't have the dummy. Great idea to add pickups and a tether. I like the S-2's. I wish I could 2 rail mine.
I didn't have a problem with the single S-2 on Atlas switches because I powered the closure rail that the pick went over while (I don't know what the term would be) the closure rail that the wheel was running over would be wired for common. I got real crazy with the Atlas switches at the end.
It's not really running on the 2 rail track.
Hi guys
Not sure if this is the right place to put my two penny worth in, but here goes. My long suffering wife bought me a Lionel Shark nose A unit for Christmas and I bought the B powered unit. Really pleased with them, BUT I feel that LIONEL could have added Diesel sounds to the Powered B unit just to add realism. and maybe a bit of dialogue between the crew on the non powered A and the Powered A.
If this is not the right area to post this observation please point me in the right direction.
I have also added some sounds to Lionel Passenger cars, where do i post the pictures please
I use these
They are pretty small. The white dot acts as a key so you always plug them in correctly.
I use 2 pin, 3 pin and 4 pin versions depending on what I'm trying to accomplish.
In the unit above I may switch to a 3 pin connector and put in some marker lights.
Woah thought I lost my post. This started in the 3rs section. It some how hopped to the Hi-Rail section.
No big deal but this was about Kadee Couplers and MU'ing 2 switchers together, fixing pilots and such. :-)
Kadees on mine too.

Lionel man UK - I think what you would want to do with your post is start your own topic. The reason is that this particular thread is about putting Kadee couplers and wiring and putting third rail pickups on a matching dummy unit. Generally, if you join a topic, your posts should be related to the topic. If there isn't a topic that relates to what you want to post, you should start your own topic.
To start you own topic, below the blue line that separates the advertising from the posts, there is a box on the right that says "Post New Topic". You would want to click on it and then you will get a screen that will allow you to post a topic. Good Luck!
Your two topics the Shark nose sounds and the passenger sounds you've added have merit. I would post them as two separate posts.
