Anybody have the book- Detailing Track by Mike Cougill?

I have it, and to be honest it is intended for those who will hand lay their own two rail track with all the various bits and pieces that entails. No three rail high rail tubular type track at all.

I realize that the book wouldn't be dealing with tubular track but I'm interested in knowing how much of the book deals with things that would be useful across the spectrum of track (3 rail, 2 rail, scale, Gargraves etc.)  Weathering, ballast, wood ties etc.

And, does the scope of the book go beyond "the outer edge of the ballast" to other details you might apply to create interest, such as piles of ties, signs, "junk" piles, weeds/ bushes, stuff like that?

I own it. I don't see much there for the 3 railer, unless you would want to detail T rail track, which says to me: Time to think about 2 rail.

I would say it's pretty 2-rail specific, so I doubt it would be worth the money to you. Also, with minor exceptions covers things between the ballast edges. That said, it's quite good for a 2-railer looking to up his game.
