Anyone know if I can add a power truck to the alien RS-3? | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

i have the Area 51 RS-3 pulling my alien recovery cars. Problem is it really struggles. I've been thinking about adding another powered truck to it and just splicing the wires in. I would think this would work. Has anyone tried this? I would think this would work. What say you?

It should work but I do not know if the reverse board will handle the extra load of the motor. Gunrunner John should be able to answer this one. You might email him and ask.

Did this come with a pullmor motor or a can motor? I have a Lionel RS3 and it has dual can motors with the motors below the frame part of the wheel truck assembly. If it has the can motors it should be easy job. But if its a pullmor motor it will not fit unless you modify the frame but even that I think the body will not accommodate a wide pullmor.

Here is my can motor truck from my Lionel RS3.

I was going to order a can motor unit direct from lionel and put it in, it looks easy, just don't want to overload any circuits.
