Picked up this inexpensive car the other day. No kind of markings on it as to who made it. Anyone have any ideas?

But that link specifically acknowledges that Lionel didn't make it?
It's probably a custom paint job, but not a one of a kind.
I have no idea if it actually is or not, but it seems very similar to some work done by RGS over the years.

Not made by Lionel. The car was likely made by Chicago Toy company who makes repo submarines.
Or by Bob Geller as he made a submarine just like that one but lettered for Texaco. There's one on eBay now. I think Geller and Chicago Toy Line both used flat cars from MTSI in Korea.
