STOKED that Legacy Station is offering this custom run! I placed an order for one this morning.
Lionel 2333710 Space Force SD70 Exclusive Officially Licensed Product (legacystation.com)
Interesting math they use figuring their 10% deposit! I would have thought 10% of $649.99 would be roughly $65.
Yes I know, they should have put the $65 there and not the remaining 90%.

... 😐 ...
Mark in Oregon
I find it pretty cool that a train store got permission to use the copyright like that.
Ben
It's a trademark, not a copyright. Still doesn't seem like one that is actively enforced from what I seen. Wonder if anyone has actually been prosecuted for it.
I did notice this on Legacy stations website
"
Legacy Station Limited
www.legacystation.com
This is an Officially Licensed Reseller for the U.S. Air Force"
May want to update that to Space Force
The Space Force is part of the Department of the Air Force. Some part of the Secretariat would handle licensing issues, not the military service.
Interestingly, the Air Force's application to register "SPACE FORCE" is currently suspended by the Trademark Office, because there were several other earlier-filed applications trying to register the same name.
Also an interesting question whether military name can be trademarked, since to obtain a trademark you must be using the mark "in commerce" within the meaning of the Lanham Act. One might have thought the business of the military was defense, not commerce.
Here the Air Force attempted to register the mark in connection with various promotional-type merchandise, as well as the service of "providing courses of instruction at the college level in the fields of the United States Space Force".
(Military seals are a different matter, since they are protected by a special statute.)
SO WHEN it arrives...what cars does one use to load up behind this beauty???
Ask Elon Musk, he should know.
Legacy Station is also offering a matching Caboose...just ordered...very special train set I think...

Are they shipping? I have not received mine...booo hoo
For those of you who are interested in the Space Force SD70 check out Eric's Trains on Youtube. Eric does a review of this locomotive.
Just got mine today from Brian at Legacy. What can I say? A beautiful, fantastic loco...certain to be a collectible. I understand he is on to a second run. Check out the Legacy site.
Eric Segal did a review on it about 2 weeks ago. Really Nice looking piece

I am super disappointed by this for the fact I was hoping it would be a one run collectable there goes that
Well, I'm happy for Brian and Legacy that its so popular, he added a second run. Good on him.
Keep the Master Carton. The box has a piece number on it which should show that it's a first run. Did Legacy Station have only 100 made?
The MASter Carton also has the PO number and on-board ship date.
True For those lucky to have gotten theirs...fill me in before I loose my mind...when its going forward does your two pilot lights go 'wig wag'? I thought mine did (might me thinking of another loco?), not they are steady. HMMM...
