I am considering getting an electronic cutter for model building. These are ones marketed to crafters and quilters for cutting paper, vinyl, and fabric. The more powerful ones can cut styrene and thin wood as well. I am looking at the Cricut Maker, Silhouette Cameo, and a couple of the Brother Scan N Cuts. Is anyone using any of these or any of the others? The Cricut Maker appears to have the best selection of cutting tools for working with plastic and wood. My main concerns have to do with the software which seems to be aimed more for producing designs provided by the company building the machines. I doubt I would be using many of those, rather do my own designs in some sort of CAD program and sending files to the cutter.
