Curious to see if anyone won any of the builfings/ scenery items from that auction.

I was originally hoping to, but I didn’t. When I started looking at the items, I realized they were not just lifting structures off the layout, they were cutting out large plots of layout with them. I didn’t see a way I could incorporate all that into my rather small layout, so I never placed any bids.
I got a lump of horse crap from out back

Ben, I've got plenty more of that stuff if you'd like!

Hennings Trains posted on FB that they managed only to get a covered bridge. Everything else they were interested in went for more than they were willing to go. Some of the prices were crazy high.
Being that it was not just a train layout but an history lesson in the area I am sure it drew more than just railroaders.
Here are the realized prices.
I looked at the auction site, and realized it was all out of my price range. Considering the scale they were built in, they would've looked fantastic with my wife's G and Standard Gauge.
Wow those were some serious prices. Very good.
I bid on one item but did not get it. It went for well over $300. Worth may be $50 on a good day.
Not paying those crazy prices.

Thanks for posting. Holy cow on most of the prices. Good for the owners, but glad I didn't waste my time.
Who pays that much for a momentary push button?
I still think somehow they should pay back all the donors that gave to their Go Fund Me page a few years ago for the 40K new roof they instslled....
I bid early on but bids went higher than I wanted as well. Their facebook page shows posts from people who did win many of the items. Good for those people to have a piece of history, and good for the Roadside America family to bring in good money to cover their costs.
For me, considering the scale didn't match O scale anyway I decided to devote my money to building kits to create my own personalized structures, inspired by folks like Roadside America, Choo Choo Barn, and the talented folks on this forum.
I hope nobody gets offended—and don’t look now—but our marvelous government is printing dollar bills—make that HUNDRED dollar bills—as fast as the presses can run. Every day, those bucks in your pocket are being devalued. Look at the prices in the latest Lionel catalog. My feeling is that many items—if not most—in the Roadside America auction, were true bargains. I would SO much rather have a one-of-a-kind piece of history than some recently produced piece of electronic wizardry from the Orient. Just sayin.

Those prices are hard to believe. Crazy like GME.

@Mr. Allied,
Many Lionel products in the 1930's during the Depression were regarded at the time as very high.

I was surprised to learn that a friend of the family was bidding in this auction. This is not a train guy, just someone who loved going to the place as a child and wanted some mementos. I have a feeling that many others may be doing the same and that is why these prices seem so much higher than i would ever have imagined.
One person’s junk is another’s treasure...but man that junk sure was expensive.
I see that the Locust Summit Coal breaker and ancillary structures went for big bucks. It was a scale model commissioned by the coal company. I'd say that it was worth the $3000.00 that it brought because it's provenance. Any Reading RR fan would be happy to have it.
Good Grief!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow. I only looked during the first day, or two, of the auction. Those prices really did climb. The old dirt bikes went pretty cheap, but I somehow missed those when I scanned the lots last month.
Another head scratcher is the Angela Trotta Thomas Century Club painting for $200. Did a quick Google search and only $29.99 on eBay right now. 🤔
