I visited a show today and among other stuff, I bought the above mentioned switch. It will not throw the switch at any voltage below 12vac, sometimes not even at 12 volts. I opened it up and fixed a number of gremlins, but after cleaning, resoldering near broken wires, etc., no change. If i physically throw the switch from the underside (removed the bottom plate) or the top side, it will typically jam with just light pressure applied - heavier pressure gets it moving again. The gear on the motor and the rack teeth on the pie-shaped piece o' plastic the motor mates with do not appear to be chewed up, but honestly, my eyes aren't THAT good. I'm guessing a new motor and the pie-shaped piece would fix things right up, but after visiting Lionel's site, I cannot find any parts available - do they still make these switches? And did they drop all replacement parts?
Thanks,
George
