Are the Battery "G" gauge toy trains actually "G" gauge? Mix and match with G freight cars?

A neighbor gave me a pile of these large battery operated train freight cars. The snap together track is not actually G gauge but somewhat narrower. I was thinking of putting these into a set with a Lionel "G" Battery operated engine and some buildings and scenery for the pediatric floor of the local hospital. Since the trucks on these cars I was given are narrower than the Lionel Battery sets, I was wondering if I can buy G trucks and swap them. Alternatively, if the Lionel battery sets are actually "G" gauge, I can try to find used freight cars from the various actual G-gauge offerings on eBay. Thoughts?
