Yep I see that on Costco site but as AJH4 pointed out that is a 2016 Production. Now without belonging to Costco and being close to a store, I can not check to make sure it is the newer version, as stated by both of you. In today's world there are too many people claiming false advertising hence my suspicions. You may be getting exactly what you are seeing.

While it is possible they are selling those, hopefully it is just a bad web department using an old image as those units would have no warranty from Lionel. Maybe a call?

What was delivered was the white box 6-85418 with a date of 7/30/2021 and "bi-lingual" on the outer box.  Not sure of the two languages that make it bi-lingual --  English-Spanish, English-French, or English-Parseltongue?

I recently purchased my first LionChief engine - it is a Berk from a breakup of one of the Polar Express passenger sets. It came with two instruction manuals, one in English and one in French, so I guess that makes it bilingual (or was intended for sale in Quebec )!!!
