I just received a new Atlas Beer Can tanker. As I grew up with the beer that made Milwaukee famous, Schlitz Beer, I bought the car. While converting it to 2 rail I noticed MTH stamped on the bottom of the wheel set. It was covered by an Atlas ink stamp. Interesting.

Atlas bought some of the tooling from MTH as they "closed down" with the retirement of MIke Wolf. They are reissueing stuff as their "Premier" line. Lionel also bought some of the tooling. But apparently some stayed with the remainder of MTH that some employees bought. Or maybe the new MTH just contracts for stuff.
The Atlas stuff coming out in this new premier line theirs apparently is not being offered in 2 rail.
I'd like to see some Schlitz car action when you're ready to put it on the tracks! Please post some pics. I got interested in the Beer Line when MR built a layout based on the Milwaukee Road switching area a few years back, with a great FM switcher!
