I like the "multi-era"term. Fits my approach to model railroading perfectly.
If I am not mistaken the real NKP owned 11 PA 1s in this paint scheme, I realize this is not one of the original ones they owned but since all the delivered PA 1s from Alco were initially only differentiated by the paint schemes of the RR s that bought them. Now I could see the point a lot better if the present owner painted the unit for a RR that never actually owned one ala the 3 rail mfgs. JMO
In the FWIW column it needs to be noted that NKP 190 sits on incorrect trucks. The only A1A trucks that could be found were from an FM Erie built and they are not the same. There is no sense in pointing out the differences because there are those who would say that even if it sat on SD40 trucks that would not be significant either.
To relate back to Atlas, Atlas O's Erie builts sit on incorrect Alco A1A trucks.

This detail was not present on all of NKPs PA's. I found images of 180, 184, and 189 without the nose bell notch in a quick search of my reference material.
I received my Atlas Erie Lackawanna F7's last week.If the fuel tanks are off its not by much. The finish is great and it pulls like a champ right out of the box.I will be installing the fixed pilot soon.A big double thumbs up to Atlas on this locomotive.Im looking forward to the Grand Trunk & Western F3's due out in the spring.
Can anyone tell me if their B units showed up with the scale couplers and adapters? My PRR B didn't. Two emails to Atlas service have gone unanswered.
In the last few months I have not had any response when E mailing anyone at Atlas the Spam filters must be set high! just saying.

I have only received my Amtrak non-Powered B unit (from Mr Muffins) which came with a package of traction tires, package of four screws, and a warranty card.
As a separate question, I managed to scratch the paint on the top (completely my fault) while trying to retrieve all of the parts which fell off; middle fan insert and middle portal windows for both sides. Does anyone know what would be the closest black paint to touch up a few spots on the roof? Basically we're talking less than a drop of paint with the smallest of brushes to touch up four spots.

I should have mentioned I have the unpowered B too. Looks like I'm not alone so far. Those four 1mm screws are for securing the tabs up behind the fuel tank skirts to the frame. I guess Atlas supplied them if the car body sides bow out.
I do appreciate the extra traction tires I guess.
Norm,
I will call Atlas tomorrow.

Maybe only the A units comes with the Kadee bracket option for the fixed pilot. Since there is no pilot on the B units, maybe they don't provide them. Did they provide them on the previous runs of F3s?
Has anyone received the SF 'Yellowbonnets'?
Are they delayed with the 'regular' Warbonnets?

Sam, I wasn't under the impression that Atlas-O is even producing F7's (or F3's in the later run) with the SF "yellowbonnet" paint scheme. Only the regular war bonnet for SF livery.
For Atlas-O's original announcement of the F7's, clink this link.
For Atlas-O's CZ companion announcement of F3's, clink this link. There was also another announcement with more F3 liveries, but none with a SF yellow war bonnet.
Does anyone have information to the contrary?

I believe you are correct, David. I also believe that it was Sunset/3rd Rail that was offering the Santa Fe "Yellow Bonnet" styling F Units.
LOS, Atlas provided the rear scale coupler with drawbar for the As along with the pilot and coupler assembly. I'm assuming the A unit rear coupler set would have shipped with the Bs times 2.
I didn't get a B unit for my NYC F2s so I don't know how they've handled them before.
645,
I love the consist behind the PAs in the photo you posted. Such was the period. Can you tell me the date and what train it is? I like to model the Lackawanna (and EL), which often had a similar mix, and the NKP.
