I am looking to buy an Atlas SW9 switcher with conventional control. It doesn’t appear to have much room under the hood. Have any of you converted one of these to command control? If so, would you recommend a particular system? I’d sure appreciate the insight, thanks.

The ERR system should fit. I recently did an upgrade of one of the early SW's. A lot of work. I was fortunate to get an original TMCC control mother board for Atlas SW's. The mother board came from another forum member who did an ERR upgrade to obtain speed control. Pennsy SW9 upgrade. Click on the under lined phrase for a slideshow.

It sure does look like a challenge. I understand that the ERR boards are yet to be available via 3rd Rail. I would have to wait for that availability. MTH’s retrofit may work too.
I have not found a SW9 in UP livery up until now, and the price is reasonable.
