Just came back from a road trip to Florida. On the way there, of course we had to again stop at the "famous" South of the Border store complex.
There I found these two military trucks that look to be around 1/50 for my Cape Warrenaveral military base.
I plan to detail them, maybe Dullcoat, and add benches and soldiers in the troop carrier.
A couple years ago I cut this old Revell tanker down and added some supports added some decals from a place in France called GasOline they have wonderful 1/48 scale Millitary Models. Today I took some pics of it being Piggyback. Of course the tank is Empty and is being transported to go in service.

The entire family go with Dad to look a used station wagon for sale. It will be a new car for them if they can get the seller to drop the price. However, it is pristine condition and is a gorgeous car'. Grandma & Papa consider helping out with a contribution. Lets see how Loyd makes out...😲 Connie, Loyd's wife has her doubts and doesn't think they can afford such a nice car, as they arestill waiting for their stimulus check'...💲💰😢
Well, unfortunately, Loyd, couldn't together with the seller on the price he was asking. Connie, tells him, now worries, we'll find something else. We'll just have to wait a little longer to take our family trip....

Yes, they will go on the layout - that is where Cape Warrenaveral is.

Quarter Gauger, you are the master story teller! I'm with Lee: I thought that first photo was the real thing until I noticed the plastic stands for the figures in later photos.
Great car, really great and realistic scale people, great story! To me trains and cars -- real and model -- are all about story telling.

P.S. -- I, too, have been working on cars having just finished building a 1/8 scale Lego Technic Bugatti Chiron, so it's obviously not an appropriate scale for this post -- let alone my carpet layout. Some day I may pick up one in 1/43; I've seen a few and they are sweet. I'd even let Lloyd and Connie have a ride. 😀

A guy in California was selling it for $6.99. & 6 bucks shipping. The figures I finished up painting today when the car arrived. So I thought I'd take a few pics.. As I mentioned before, No rehearsal, or preparations. Just a quick shoot on the deck with the wind blowing. I never imagined they would come out as good as they did.... Thanks again'..😬
PS: Put your Bugatti on the thread. We are not regulated by scale per say'. I think everyone would like to see your car'...
To keep this train related, I was thinking about a military show for the townsfolk. But the scale just does not work for lionel trains. 1/35 vs. 1/48.

Wow Joel, that is nice work. The tanks weathering is spot on'.. Did you paint the soldier? They look very good as well...
Yes, all hand painted. Been working to try and take my painting and weathering to the next level. You certainly nailed that family looking for their new classic car. Did you hand paint those people?

That’s a really cool idea, Lee! Using the Piggyback PS-4’s ramps and an Idler flat to fit the cab with the tanker! By now y’all know I love my army vehicles very well done on that old Revell. Funny you mention Gaso.Line just came across it on motorpool for the first time a couple of days ago but they didn’t show anything- will have to dig further. Thanks for sharing! Looks like I might not have to take my PS4 flat off the layout after all

South of the Border is still there? I recall it from 1972-1973.
Somebody needs to make an O scale representation of that place
