Bachman coaling tower | O Gauge Railroading On Line Forum

Great article in OGR run 337 on improving the Bachman coaling tower. I’ve got limited space but was thinking of adding the structure.
Can anyone advise what the distance between the supporting legs is? The specs say 4” but I need to be sure it clears the track and has space for passing trains. I’m guessing the legs are 3/8” thick.

Here is a picture of mine. It is detailed and modified to put the discharge chute under the bunker. The legs are 4” apart.

I combined two……and the footprint is still pretty compact….

It’s amazing what some scrap styrene and dark paint can hide……
